Sip & Flip: You Are A Badass
5 Valuable Takeaways - You Are A Badass By Jen Sincero
If you want something in life, you go for it --- Yup, pretty sure this self-help book is to blame for our recent boost of daily motivation and self admiration displayed on our bathroom mirrors (actions people, actions!)
Reading our way into 2018, we decided to choose a read that spoke volumes in life guidance, self-confidence and well, rocking the world.
Throughout this book Jen makes you feel all the feelings whether you agree or not. From her colorful storytelling to “tough love” attitude at tackling life, you are forced to think what it is you really want. This beautiful moment transcends throughout the books entirety, leaving you to feel more motivated than ever. Whether you are looking at finding yourself, your passion or just trying to get your life together; this book is for YOU.
Here are 5 valuable takeaways we certainly will embed into our everyday lives because Jen said so:
1. You’ve got to believe that everything you want is available to you.
Believe in yourself because no one can do it better than YOU. Becoming in tuned with your person and what you want most can open doors for growth in all aspects of your life. You are not in this alone, but in fact the universe can be on your side as long as you welcome it into your journey. It’s all about the vibes you send to the universe. And if we were you, it’s a ‘Good Vibes Only’ zone. Just like the Law of Attraction: Focus on that which makes you feel good and ye shall find (attract) that which makes you feel good (ß Jens words not ours!)
It will happen for you, you just need to believe.
2. Everything you do along your journey contributes to where you are going.
The key is to ‘go-for-it’ and stop wasting time. Jen shares some valuable tactics to help you contribute to your journey while finding your purpose in life. Her tactics make this process a little less painful with a-whole-lotta productivity on your plate. It’s all about trying new things, seeking opportunities and utilizing your skills --- & VOILA!
3. Our greatest fears are our greatest waste of time.
We will definitely raise our hands and state we have been personally victimized by our fears. Big, small, short, tall --- we’ve had them all. It wasn’t until we realized that we did and still do put so much energy and time into the fear of the unknown. It’s almost like a blood-sucking rodent. So why are we letting it take over the way we are doing life? Jen simply states, “Show it who’s boss.” The idea of flipping our fears to work with us and not against us has been one of the most impactful realizations thus far. Fear you are a waste of time.
4. Be the kind of person who creates exactly what she wants.
Honda Vs. Audi: Talk about game-changer. Jen shared her story of a time when she needed to purchase a new ride. Yes, purchasing decisions are tough especially when getting a car but the way this situation played out we’ve learned you truly have to have faith in yourself, the universe and your hustle.
So the story went, Jen believed she deserved the Audi. She test-drove the bad boy and believed everything would fall into place if she chose the Audi and not the Honda. The Honda was the better choice a safer gamble… and smarter for her bank account. But Jen BELIVED she deserved the Audi and it was going to work out. And you know what, it did + she hustled to make sure it did.
5. Love Yourself.
Because it’s the Holy Grail of happiness.
No matter what anyone else thinks.
Like you’re the only you there is.
No matter who you really are.
Unless you have a better idea.
And the bluebirds of happiness will be your permanent backup singers.
And everyone benefits.
Be grateful for all you are and all that you’re becoming.
You deserve it.
And life becomes a party.
More than you love your drama.
Right now, wherever you’re at.
You’re doing an awesome job.
And you will be invincible.
Fiercely, loyally, unapologetically.
While you’ve still got the chance.
You can do anything.
And you will have it all.
And the Motherlode shall bestow her magic upon you.
With a kung fu grip.
You are a badass.
